OK - it may be time to be officially worried about our defense. If you want to make predications about the rest of the season just look at each teams offensive firepower - if they have a good offense we are probably in trouble.

Thank about this - we have shut down the likes of:

Miami
St. Louis (without Stephen Jackson)
Buffalo (without JP Losman, Peerless Price or 8 other starters)
Chicago (before the switch to Griese)

We have played 2 good offensive teams - the New York Giants and now the Patriots and we have been absolutely torched by both of them.

IMHO a big mistake made in the offseason was the release of Aaron Glenn. I posted here after the second preseason game that Nate Jones did not look good - as a matter of fact he looks like the worst CB on the team. He got beat repeatedly in that game on inside routes and then misjudged that deep pass and gave up a TD - remember? He actually I don´t think made a single positive play from scrimmage in the entire preseason. Aaron Glenn got beat a few times but also made some nice plays and has 14 years experience.

A number of players were furious when he was cut with Roy Williams being the most outspoken. He said ¨we just lost the 3rd best CB on the team for no reason¨.

Thatś right - in the opinion of the players he was better than Jacques Reeves - who has been playing pretty well.

If Glenn were still on the roster we could have played him and Reeves on the outside yesterday and Newman in the slot to help with the damn Wes Welker nightmare. Instead, we had Nate Jones as our 3rd CB out there and it just was not good.

Anthony Henry - please get healthy soon! Coaching staff and GM - shame on your for cutting an experienced solid CB from this team!

We had better get a new CB in here soon to help this defense or we are in trouble!!!
