OK - now the draft begins for us!

OK so yesterday was a complete non-event. We didn't even get good value (according to the draft chart) for our trade down from pick #51.
However, we should own the draft today with 12 picks some of which I am sure will be put in a bundle to trade up to get certain players. Here are some players I would like us to consider - I wish I could get in Stephen Jone's ear today like I have been able to do after the games at times over the last few years - more on those stories in another article but oh well...
Jarron Gilbert DL - incredible strength and athletisicsm - at 6'5 and 287 lbs and being able to squat almost 700 pounds and deadlift 650 lbs shows his size and strength. His has great quickness and of course there is a lot of buzz about him because of his ability to jump out of the shallow end of a pool and land on both of his feet - you can google his name and watch YouTube videos of these feats for your amusement :)
Rashad Johnson S - OK so we missed out on a lot of safeties yesterday but that doesn't mean a potentially outstanding one is not left here for us. Johnson was the SEC Defensive player of the year and kown for his outstanding ball hawking skills at deep safety. He is also a great special teams player and a good tackler (2nd on his team in tackles). He was ranked by many services as the #2 safety in this draft and he is still available - I say take him if you can!
Shawn Nelson TE - OK so we have 2 great TEs - we lost Tony Curtis and I am not sure who we have left at the position that can play. Nelson, who comes from my alma mater in Southern Miss, was an OUTSTANDING TE that I got to see play quite a bit. He simply dominated many games and was the best player on the field in many games. He has outstanding measurables and could be plugged in as our 3rd TE and fill that void for many years. If we had any injury problems at the position he could fill in and start as he has that kind of ability...
These are the players I know the most about - I have heard great things about James Casey so if we can pick up someone that versatile later in the draft I would be all for it...
Anyway I hope the Cowboys are able to get some of these guys today but if not hopefully other players who will contribute greatly for us...
Should be fun...
DOH - the Bears just took
DOH - the Bears just took Gilbert right in front of us...oh well we could have had him if we wanted him so we wil see how he works out for them. Most people feel his production did not match his ability in college but I figured this late it might be worth the gamble on someone who has least All-Pro ability and measurables...
We'll see! That is what is fun about the draft...
