Everyone,

Any of you that have done any serious web design know how difficult it is to design pages around the Internet Explorer browser and its non-standard HTML style sheets, etc. I have noticed in testing this site that it looks perfect in Firefox (using more standard HTML styles) and many things just don't work consistently in Internet Explorer especially IE7. For example, the right sidebar jumps to the bottom some time and pictures don't display consistently.

Instead of continuing to fight these issues and then dealing with more issues when Microsoft changes things again, I have decided to do what many other sites have done and just announce that this site is always best viewed with Firefox. I have written a routine that detects IE and then displays a banner giving you the chance to install Firefox for free at the top of the page. This is the best thing I can think to do to insure an ongoing pleasant experience viewing this site. Firefox is also much faster and you can install a lot of great add-ons so I think you will really like it in the long run!

Internet Explorer will of course still work as a valid browser on this site I just can't guarantee everything will look perfect.
