Without Kosier, don't we usually suck?

Danny Smith's picture

OK this may seem silly but I wrote about this a few years ago and it at least seemed to be a viable theory for a while. It seemed as though every game that Kyle Kosier was not in the lineup we gave up insane pressure up the middle on pass protection and the running game never got going. He missed the first part of the season a few years ago and we couldn't do much on offense - then when he returned all got back to normal.

Am I remembering this right?  And if so, should we be a little concerned that I am hearing he wil lmiss at least the first 4 games of the season?

It was 2008 - he played on

It was 2008 - he played on only three games all year. The team was awful - especially in those late season games against good pass rushes (Giants, Steelers, Ravens.) The team had a lot of injuries that year to higher profile players (Barber, Felix, Romo, McBriar) but I agree with you - that one was key.
